How to get there:

By car:
from Loano you reach the hamlet of Verzi and following the directions for the Refuge, after some kilometres the asphalt road becomes a country road ending in a wide large square, locality Castagnabanca, used as a parking; from here the cableway and the paths start, leading to the Refuge about in 20 minutes. (markway ).

On foot:
from Loano to Verzi, in hamlet Borgarino you leave the Parish church on the right and following the markway you reach the square of Castagnabanca and the Refuge.

from Pietra Ligure until Ranzi, markway ,then you follow the markway until the Church of San Martino and the Alpini War Memorial, then you take on the left the way linking the Refuge, passing along a wonderful small house (Cabanun), recently restored.

from Bardineto, locality Geirolo, you take the road on the right to the Giogo (summit) of Giustenice where, if you go by car, you can park and following the marked path , you reach the Refuge.

The Refuge has 40 beds, external bathrooms on the floor, with warm shower, 2 kitchens: one for the guests who wish to be self governing and the other recently enlarged, for the managers; telephone (019.671.790), voltage 24 or 220 v., a large hall accomodating more than 50 people. Open all over the year, the hotel service is assured on the weekend, also the other days by reservation. The Refuge is a halting place of the ALTA VIA DEI MONTI LIGURI and has a room used as a bivouac always open for an overnight stay.
Being placed at low altitude and near the sea, it is reachable, practically, all over the year, since the snowfalls are scanny and short.

The topographic location of the Refuge is really successful in that, in less than half an hour from a carriage-way, linked to this one by a cableway able to carry supplies, baggages and equipment for the maintenance, is close to the Bric Pratello and from its plateau a wonderful view ranges on the shore; besides, recently an area has been equipped as heliport, always ready for any help occasion, has been equipped.
From an excursionistic point of view it is an ideal place for all who practise trekking, free-climbing, parascending or simply as a place of arrival of a short trip in order to leave temporarily the crowded beaches and enjoy the beauty that nature can offer.

- HALTING PLACE OF ALTA VIA DEI MONTI LIGURI IN THE WAY GIOGO DI TOIRANO - GIOGO DI GIUSTENICE.

- TRANSIT PLACE OF EXCURSIONS THAT FROM LOANO OR FROM PIETRA LIGURE TAKE TO MONTE CARMO (4232 feet) ( see the routes from n. 4 to n. 7 of the PATHS GREEN-AZURE).

- BAKING PLACE FOR FREE-CLIMBERS AT THE ROCCA DELL'AVIO (equipped) OR AT THE SCOGLIO DEL BUTTO.

- STARTING PLACE FOR PARASCENDISTS WHO WILL BE ABLE TO FIND SOME HURLING PLACE FROM BRIC PRATELLO, THE TOPS OF MONTE CARMO, WITH SOME POSSIBILITIES TO LAND AT THE REFUGE'S HELIPORT OR FROM MONTE RAVINET AND SAN PIETRO IN VARATELLA.
